Australia - Land of Contrasts

A photographic journey of Australia’s many vistas and wildlife !

"Here's another piece!"

The small charter airplane I was riding, was coming apart in mid air! The pilot seemed amused as I called out my alarm over the headset intercom.

Deep in the desolate Aussie Outback, we were flying high above the red-hued rock and scared Aboriginal site known as Uluru (formerly Ayers Rock). Sitting in the rear cargo hold photographing the scene beneath me, air rushing in through the open fuselage door of the single engine Cessna 217, was slowly ripping apart the interior trim and carpet! It was alarming... and very annoying!

Find out what happens next, as Voyageur Fred takes you through the steamy rainforests of Queensland; the Great Barrier Reef to the north; the Australian Alps and the Great Ocean Highway to the south; the sparkling metropolises of Sydney and Melbourne in the east; to the Blue Mountains in the west.

It's a month-long, 15,000km journey of discovery, through the spectacular continent of awesome Australia!

Nature lovers will enjoy the colourful birds, bouncing kangaroos, cute wallabies, fuzzy koala bears, red-sided skinks, dragon lizards and mystical rainbow serpents!

Join Frederic for the adventure, as he recounts the stories, the history, and the people he meets in this odyssey through the Land Down Under. It's a colourful 90 minute show, featuring Australian folk music and atmospheric Aboriginal melodies, played on the famous didjeridu.
